I back!!!!! After trying so hard to blog regularly I lost my old lappie, poor thing just couldn't take the strain and gave up the ghost. Thanks to no2 son I have a new MacBook Pro, a beast of a machine and it has taken me a few days to get my head around it but I think I'm up and running now.

I had a wonderful time in Australia and travelled back last Monday/Tuesday. Journey was uneventful, thank goodness but very long. Suffering from the old jet lag and the cold. Three jumpers and two pairs of socks, bit of shock to the system coming from 34c to 2c. It's a balmy 6c outside at the moment and pouring with rain and blowing a gale.

Had a quick peek at the lottie, not bad, not much weed and the cold has broken down the soil nicely. It's far too wet to get out there and prepare for sowing anything, far too cold anyway. I will be sowing leeks inside next week and then see how it goes.

This part of the allotment is where the poly tunnel is going. The black plastic is from last years squash and pumpkin crop. I left it down as a way of keeping down the weed. I'm looking forward to trying a few crops that require more heat than we can provide outside. It should also prolong the growing season, lettuce and such well into the autumn. Well you have got to dream haven't you. LOL.

Have a good day.

Yay! Glad your back, Pippa, safe and sound. :) (My laptop is also about to die...yikes!)

I'm garden-dreaming too, and I'll be doing some indoor sowing this week. I'm wishing us luck!

Welcome back. The weather sounds miserable ... we had a gale start blowing late afternoon and then a good shower for about an hour. Drizzle today. Temp right down as well.Enjoy the quite.

I loved looking at your allotment - is all we ca see in photo yours?
We don;'t have allotments in NZ so I am fascinated. Hope you get some warm days where you can pop outside & snap a few more shots.
