Knitting, knitting and more knitting.

I haven't written about my knitting recently. I knit all year round, it's never usually that hot that I can't. Lots for the new baby, cardies, blankets, a shawl and several soft toys. I have also finished the year long dishcloth swap, sent the last package out on tuesday. Socks, a cowl and a scarf for Christmas presents. I not good on taking photos so nothing to show of these.

Bex is not one for baby colours and picked out these for the next set of cardies. The pink is a baby bamboo and so so soft to knit with. I love this little one, it's knitted all in one from the top down. The sleeves are magic loop, a new technique for me but one I seem to have master with some success.

Once I'm on a roll with something I can't stop. Here's the pink bamboo nearly finished and I've started the coffee one also. No photo as yet.

Last but not least I have another pair of socks, these are for me as they don't match and I'm not fussy. Just using up a skein of this lushes self colouring yarn. I love purple and turquoise.

More Knitting.

I have been back to Ettalong for the week and the knitting is coming out thick and fast. B and A don't have the internet and TV reception is very poor because of the mountains so lovely peace and quite.

I love the way I travel to visit. From D and A's home I take a bus trip right along the Northern Beaches to Palm Beach and then the ferry to Ettalong. What better way to travel in this lovely weather. I not sure about the ocean crossing in the winter months but I don't have to think about that for a few years yet.

I go home next week and I have been trying to get a real head start with the afghan, I'm up to thirty something squares now, as when I'm home I won't have so much free time.

Starting my Afghan.

I,m knitting along with Rhonda Jean on the 'Down to Earth' blog and I need to record my progress. We are making an Afghan, rug, blanket, call it what you will and how big it ends up is more to do with time then anything else. Well with me it is.

I made a good start when I went up the coast at the weekend. Not a thing to do but go for a stroll and knit. I don't know what I will be like when I eventually go home to the UK after my visit. At least I will have missed the worst of the winter.

Well back to the Afghan, I have chosen greens, browns and pinks, all my favorite colours.

Here is the first garter stitch square. I am using a size smaller needle just because I love this pair of needles I bought at the op shop a few weeks ago. Squares are coming out at about 14cm. Ten down only another one hundred and twelve to go.
